Meeting of Heads of State and Government of France, Germany, Spain and Italy

The President of the French Republic, Franois Hollande, has invited the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, and the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, to a meeting on Monday, 6 March, in Versailles to contribute to the current reflection process regarding the future of the European Union of the 27.

At the ceremony to award the decorations of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise, the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, highlighted the "good results" offered to the people of Spain over the course of history by "the spirit of cooperation and unity", and that together we have built an "ambitious project with shared success".

The President of the Government stressed that "a very exciting project exists for Spain". He also reminded separatist leaders that "all 46 million Spaniards" are subject to the law and urged them to always uphold and respect the rulings handed down by the Supreme Court.

Government allocates more than 268 million euros to international protection programmes

The Government Spokesperson, igo Mndez de Vigo, reported that regional governments will receive close on 12 billion euros in the first two quarters of 2017 through the Financing Fund. The government also reiterated its commitment to the prevention and fight against the discrimination of women.
