Shihan Van Clief (Da Poetry Lounge Co-Founder, Russell Simmons presents Def Poetry Jam) and Arianna Lady Basco (The Fabulous Filipino Brothers) serve as Festival Directors of the 7th Annual LA Get Down Festival, celebrating hip-hop and spoken word. Featuring Latinx Voices of World Stage, Palms Up Academy’s Asian diaspora in the Gold Standard, poetry slams, and workshops. Original work from the Celebration Theatre and the Breaking Ground Theatre Company. The festival closes with the INKSLAM INVITATIONAL, hosted by Matthew Cuban Hernandez and Van Clief. 

All tickets are $10. Festival pass for all events is $40.

With special guests like Duck Ellington and Ms. Dairy Parton – plus Preston appearing as Acoustic Rooster – this musical adaptation will have children (and families) dancing in their seats.
