Only a third of employees are engaged with their work, with some saying they find leaders too detached, writes leadership coach Janine Schindler, citing research from Gallup and Rapt Media. Managers can foster engagement by paying attention to the work at hand and by encouraging honest criticism, Schindler writes.

A House bill that would revamp laws affecting retirement, including making it easier for retirement plans to offer annuities and raising the age for required minimum distributions to 72, has a companion bill in the Senate. The legislation comes from Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and ranking member Ron Wyden, D-Ore.
