Just when Canberra thought spring had sprung, along comes the snow. On this day 51 years ago, The Canberra Times reported there was hail in Reid and snow on the steps of Parliament House. High winds dashed waves over the wall skirting the lake near Blundell's College. There were light snow flurries in the city and several other suburbs, causing some big accidents on the roads.
