That’s from the just-released 2024 MarTech Salary and Career Survey (no registration required). The main reasons were lack of resources (people, money, time) and the constant need to prove martech’s ROI.
While we can’t provide you with more money or staff, today we have two articles that could save you time. One is Annette Franz’s guide to “optichannel” and how it will improve customer engagement. The other is Venkatraman Kannan’s roadmap to getting your entire organization on board with customer-centric strategies. And, BTW, doing this will demonstrate martech’s near- and long-term ROI.
