Two Lafayette Parish anti-censorship advocates on Tuesday sued Lafayette Parish Library Board of Control President Robert Judge and Lafayette Consolidated Government for restricting those who want to speak against censorship at library board meetings. The lawsuit by Lynette Mejia and Melanie Brevis, regular speakers at board meetings, alleges the violation of Mejia's and Brevis' First Amendment rights to free speech as well as their 14th Amendment rights, along with violations of the Louisiana Open Meetings Law.
