They are the quiet, unsung, heroes of our healthcare system yet are often overlooked for the roles they play in the community.
What’s more, at this time of crisis during the pandemic, they really want to help.
Every year our pharmacies help to vaccinate against flu so they are already in an experienced position to help with the battle  against Covid.
They are trusted and importantly, placed in our communities and accessible via short walk or drive for many - yet do not yet play a part in the frontline strategy to ensure every citizen has easy access to immunisation.
Today, alongside our sister titles, we are launching a plea to the Prime Minister to make use of the 11,000 pharmacies across the UK - and the almost 400 in Lancashire - in delivering the vaccination programme with a minimum of red tape.
Not only would it insert the fight back against Covid into our communities but also support our High Streets, which are struggling during this latest lockdown.
Let the pharmacies play their part and appease community concerns about travelling to huge centres.
Give us a #shotinthearm
Take care
