2017 was a tremendous year for Skateistan. It ended on a high with the launch of the documentary, Land of Skate, and the supporting campaign that raised $103,240 and brought 45 new Citizens!A huge thank you to everyone who donated, joined the Citizens or simply shared the Land of Skate. It all helped us run our most successful campaign yet, and will enable us to empower more children through skateboarding and education in 2018!

Rolling into 2018, we reach one of our greatest milestones so far – 10 years of Skateistan, which we will be celebrating from April this year (more information coming soon). Plus, before all that, we will be launching our brand new Skate School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in February.

Phnom Penh Update: New Skate School Launch Event February 23rd

Late last year we announced the exciting news that construction had begun on our new Skate School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, funded by The Skateroom, constructed by Building Trust International and located at Factory Phnom Penh. The official launch date is set for February 23rd when we will bring together our students, staff and some very special guests.

Kabul Update: Four Semesters Event

Our Skate School in Kabul ended 2017 with theFour Semesters event to celebrate what the students learned and accomplished during the year. There were speeches, awards and, of course, lots of skateboarding. Programs Officer, Sulaiman, recaps on the event and shares some great photos.
