Land once eyed for apartments has new life

by Adam Daigle | Acadiana business editor

Good morning, Acadiana business news readers. Let's get to the headlines.

Way back in 2018, when the talk of downtown residential was heating up, the big talk was about what is now the Vermilion Lofts, located on the edge of downtown. But there was another project across Johnston Street that surfaced, a 10-unit, market-rate project on the Freetown side of Johnston Street.

It, however, never reached construction phase. The owner has sold that land to a Lafayette chiropracter, and he has similar plans for the building. It's early in the process, but plans include office and residential.

Check out the story here.

Thanks for reading and have a great day
