Last year home construction declined in every area of Lafayette Parish. Except this one.

Good morning, Acadiana businesss news readers. Let's start off your week with the business news of the day. 

Real estate in Acadiana had a bit of a recovery year in 2022 after two years of historically low interest rates. The home construction industry's numbers were down a bit, which was not surprising since 2021 was the building-est year on record. Yet homes were built last year, and lots of them.

The only area to actually outperform the 2021 numbers were in the southwest corner of the parish near Maurice. It's an area to watch in the coming years.
