Grants Link to Boost Fair Work

Organisations applying for public sector grants will need to pay at least the real Living Wage and provide channels for staff to have a say in the workplace from July 2023.

The condition applies to organisations receiving grants from the Scottish Government, enterprise agencies and public bodies. Exceptions may only be applied to emergency funding and where an organisation is heavily dependent on grant funding, and paying the real Living Wage would threaten its survival.

Enhanced support to make homes warmer and greener

Homeowners can now apply for a standalone grant of £7,500 from the Home Energy Scotland Scheme to install heat pumps. Previously, applicants were required to sign up for a loan before they qualified for this funding, but can now access the money directly.

The new approach is designed to offer greater flexibility for those looking to make their homes more climate-friendly.

Climate Action for Business Programme

Business in the Community (BITC) and Be the Business are hosting a series of free workshops that offer climate action advice and training for small and medium-sized business owners in Scotland. You will learn how to develop a climate action plan for your business, measure your carbon footprint and reduce your emissions.

The interactive workshops are designed specifically for business leaders, however, there are limited places available, so booking is essential.

Destination Forth - Tourism Minister launches new Forth Bridges Trail

A new visitor trail highlighting Scotland’s iconic Forth Bridges and the distinctive historic communities of North and South Queensferry has been launched.

The Forth Bridges Trail, a five-mile circular route brings together 16 points of interest in North and South Queensferry and along the Forth Road Bridge, offers historical facts, local tales and folklore, and panoramic views of the three crossings and the Firth of Forth.
