Mint Ventures is a Scottish-based women-led angel investment group on a mission to make angel investing more accessible to women by educating both women and men from all business backgrounds how they can support more women to get involved.

They are running a series of regional in-person ‘Making Angel Investing More Accessible to Women’ events across Scotland in February and March 2023.

Scotland's Ban on Single-Use Plastics

Scotland became the first part of the UK to implement a ban on many of the most problematic single-use plastics last August. Around 700 million of these single-use items are currently used in Scotland every year.

Failure to comply with the regulations carries a maximum fine of £5,000.

Protections For Tenants Extended

Emergency measures to protect tenants will be extended, Tenants Rights’ Minister Patrick Harvie has confirmed, with private rents capped and enforcement of evictions prevented in most cases. 

The measures will see private rent increases capped at three per cent, enforcement of evictions will continue to be prevented, and increased damages for unlawful evictions of up to 36 months’ worth of rent.

More Time To Apply For Short-Term Lets Licences

Recognising the pressures short-term lets hosts face at this time, legislation has been laid to extend the deadline for applying for a licence by six months to 1st October 2023.

The new deadline applies to anyone operating as a host before 1st October 2022. Anyone who started operating after that must have applied for and obtained a licence before accepting guests and bookings.

Exhibit at the Royal Highland Show 2023

Fife Council’s Economic Development team is seeking notes of interest from Fife Food and Drink producers in attending the Royal Highland Show 2023, as part of a Fife Group Stand.

The four day event takes place between 22nd to 25th June and forms the pinnacle of the Scottish agricultural calendar, involving over 1,000 trade exhibitors, and welcomes in excess of 200,000 visitors.
