Landmark Funding To Unlock Renewables Investment.

Strategic investment to help create thousands of green jobs and deliver the full economic potential of offshore renewables projects is to be delivered over the next five years.

Up to £500 million will leverage private investment in ports, manufacturing and assembly work to support major supply chain opportunities to Scotland.

Scotland’s offshore wind capabilities are anticipated to rapidly accelerate over the coming years, with ScotWind – the world’s largest floating offshore leasing round – expected to deliver up to £25 billion of investment across Scotland’s supply chain.

Muir Group Celebrates 50 Years In Business

Family-owned construction and property firm, Muir Group has celebrated fifty years in business with its founder, John Muir, still serving  as chairman.

Mr Muir, a former joiner, set up the company in 1973 after managing another homebuilding business. Muir Group has since grown into one of the  most well-known family run firms in the country, employing around 250 people.

Creative Scotland - Made In Scotland Showcase

The purpose of the Made in Scotland Programme is to raise the international profile of Scottish artists through the promotion of Scottish work at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Funding is available to help support the presentation at the Fringe of new or existing artistically ambitious work with strong onward potential as part of the Made in Scotland Showcase. All applicants should be considering their international ambitions for the show being presented.

Those selected to be part of Made in Scotland will also receive support and advice to help them prepare for participation in the programme, including advice on marketing, venues, networking and much more.

Inward and Outward Processing

Inward Processing (IP) is used to obtain relief from customs duties and import VAT on goods that are imported from outside the UK for processing. The basic principle is to allow UK exporters to be more competitive by reducing their processing costs, Processes that are permitted under IP include manufacturing, sorting and packing, repair and refurbishment.

This half-day training course will examine the principles and terminology of IP and some of the operations available within IP and will look briefly at Outward Processing.
