Fife Start-Up Grant Now Available

Fife Council’s Start-Up Grant can provide individuals who intend to start a business in Fife with up to £500 towards the costs involved in starting to trade. Eligible costs include things such as equipment, stock and certification.

Grants are offered at the discretion of a Business Gateway adviser, so you must be working with Business Gateway Fife to be considered.

At the Scottish Chambers of Commerce annual dinner,  the Wellbeing Economy Secretary also acknowledged the need to tackle labour and skills shortages and confirmed the Scottish Government would update shortly on plans for the reform of lifelong education and skills training.

Launchpad Bio-Based Manufacturing in Scotland

This grant from Innovate UK supports projects that contribute to Scotland’s ambitions for bio-based manufacturing innovation. The projects should be led by businesses in Scotland that are currently active or increasing their activity in this area.

The funding offers two launchpads grants with funding available from £25,000 and £1,000,000 for projects which lead to increased investment in research and innovation and contribute to growing business activities and economic impact in the bio-based manufacturing cluster.

£2 million Winter Fund Launched for UK communities

The Cadent Foundation has recently announced the launch of its first-ever Winter Support Fund in a bid to rapidly inject vital financial help into communities across the UK.

The new £2 million fund aims to offer much-needed energy and food support to people living in the most vulnerable situations this winter and will be distributed through Cadent Foundation’s current charity partners, including Citizens Advice, Groundwork UK and Trussell Trust.
