Fife Investment Fund

This Fife Council fund can help support and encourage companies in Fife to invest in and grow their business.

Businesses must be able to demonstrate that the project they wish to undertake will lead to sales growth and increased employability in Fife. The fund amount is up to 70 per cent or £10,000, whichever is the lesser of the project. 

The fund is discretionary and applicants must first discuss suitability of their proposed project with a Business Gateway Fife adviser.

Scottish Business Climate Collaboration Climate Action Hub

The Scottish Business Climate Collaboration (SBCC) Climate Action Hub is a free e-learning platform to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Scotland to better understand their carbon emissions and reporting.

The hub includes 12 short e-learning modules on topics ranging from entry-level climate science to carbon emissions from business practices. Businesses also get free access to a dashboard to track carbon literacy across their organisation, as well as tools to calculate their carbon baseline and develop a carbon reduction plan.

Two-Day Employee Ownership Learning Journey 

Co-operative Development Scotland (CDS) is hosting a free learning journey to Scottish businesses to visit employee-owned companies in Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire to showcase examples of effective employee ownership in successful, growing businesses.

Leadership Development Programme

The Leadership Development Programme run by Scottish Enterprise will help you improve your business productivity and better engage with your employees. The programme has two levels, depending on your business needs.

The Growth Leadership level is for leaders whose businesses have planned growth aspirations, or experienced leaders who want to build on previous participation in leadership development activities.

The Essential Leadership level is for leaders whose businesses are in the early stages of growth, as well as new leaders and potential leaders who will be moving into a leadership role in the next two to three years.

Supporting Local Food and Drink Businesses

Food festivals, food and drink trails, markets and online shops are among the 22 local and collaborative projects to receive support from the latest round of the Scottish Government’s Regional Food Fund.

The Fund, managed by Scotland Food & Drink, aims to support regional growth by providing support for projects to promote and sell products from their areas. A fourth round of funding opened last October, with a total of £100,000 available.

SMART:SCOTLAND is a research and development (R&D) grant for small and medium-sized businesses that aims to support high risk, highly ambitious projects. It covers conducting feasibility studies to show how ideas could work in the real world and supports activities that have a commercial endpoint.

The grant is only available to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) based in Scotland and supports the activities of commercially focused R&D projects.

Circular Communities Scotland’s Share and Repair Network has made a fund available to trial innovative circular approaches in repair, sharing or re-use targeted at the tourism sector.

The amount to be distributed is £135,500, made available from Airbnb, resulting from the COP26 event in Glasgow.
