Apply Now for Fife Start-Up Grant

Fife Council’s Start-Up Grant can provide individuals who intend to start a business in Fife with up to £500 towards the costs involved in starting to trade. Eligible costs include things such as equipment, stock and certification.
Grants are offered at the discretion of a Business Gateway adviser, so you must be working with Business Gateway Fife to be considered.

The Start-Up Grant is delivered by Business Gateway Fife on behalf of Fife Council and is fully funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Record Renewable Energy Output

Renewable technologies generated the equivalent of 113 per cent of Scotland’s overall electricity consumption in 2022, new statistics show.

This is the highest recorded to date and a 26 percentage point increase compared to 2021.

AYT Foods Brings Africa To Dunfermline

Temitope (Temi) Ajayi-Salami has brought a taste of Africa to Dunfermline city centre with her new African grocery store, AYT Foods Ltd. Originally from Nigeria, Temi moved over to settle in Dunfermline when her husband was doing his Masters degree in Edinburgh.  

Located at 24 Bridge Street, the store which opened at the start of December, aims to cater for the growing demand for African/Caribbean food products and cultural experiences in Dunfermline.

Dunhurst Is The Solution For Mechanical And Electrical Engineering Projects

Kirkcaldy based Andrew Longhurst and Stephen Dunsmore met whilst working at the same company with Andrew working as a mechanical engineer and Stephen as an electrical engineer (M+E).

The Happiness Fund Now Open For Applications

The Happiness Fund is available to enable and support projects which improve mental health and wellbeing, inclusion, learning and skills development in local communities. They are specifically looking for grassroots organisations that are set up for and by the local community.

The fund is intended to support the setting up of new groups and activities, but to be successful, applicants will need to indicate how the activity/group can become self-sustainable or able to attract funding from other sources for the longer term.
