Preparing to Export Programme

The award-winning and free Preparing To Export Programme is for Scottish companies who are considering exporting for the first time or for those wishing to build on early exporting experience.

The programme is delivered over a six-week period, using a blended learning approach of online e-learning, workshops and one-to-one sessions with international trade experts, Strategem.

The programme is delivered on a national basis and is being funded by Scottish Enterprise, working with partners Scottish Development International, Fife Council Economic Development and Business Gateway Fife.

Access The Scottish Loan Scheme

The Scottish Government has made funding available to Scottish Enterprise to provide loans through the Scottish Loan Scheme (SLS).

The Scottish Loan Scheme can provide funding of between £250,000 to £2 million (up to £5 million in exceptional circumstances) to growth focused Scottish companies that have a viable business plan and a clear ability to repay the debt.

Scottish Business Climate Collaboration Climate Action Hub

The Scottish Business Climate Collaboration (SBCC) Climate Action Hub is a free e-learning platform to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Scotland to better understand their carbon emissions and reporting.

The hub includes 12 short e-learning modules on topics ranging from entry-level climate science to carbon emissions from business practices. Businesses also get free access to a dashboard to track carbon literacy across their organisation, as well as tools to calculate their carbon baseline and develop a carbon reduction plan.
