Fast-tracking Scotland’s Energy transition

A project that aims to capture, transport and safely store CO2 emissions from across Scotland will be granted £2 million from the Scottish Government.

The new funding will be used to explore how a pipeline could transport Carbon Dioxide from Scotland’s central belt to the North East.

Unlocking Fresh Business Talent

Up to £2.6 million is being invested in initiatives to make it easier for women and people from all backgrounds to start a business.

They include a pilot programme, launching initially in the South of Scotland, which will fund specialist enterprise coaches to provide a range of tailored advice and guidance to help individuals - particularly women and other under-represented groups - kick-start their business ideas.

Grants of up to £1,000 will be available to give practical help to turning business concepts into a reality.

Pathways to Scale is a Scottish Enterprise programme to help women-led businesses get ready to grow.  The programme will run from August to November 2024 and has space for 10 to 12 women who lead businesses in Scotland.

The programme is open to female founders and co-founders of established startup businesses that are around one to five years old.
