Fairer Workplaces Fund Launched

ORE Catapult is very excited to host this very first Scotland-specific iteration of the award winning Launch Academy programme. Launch Academy is a technology accelerator specifically designed for the offshore wind sector. 

Since 2020, Launch Academy has supported 57 companies, raised £26.7 million in private investment and £8.4 million in grant funding and had 150 patents filed through both the UK national and regional Launch Academy programmes.

Launch Academy Scotland supply chain programme will provide ten early-stage companies with wraparound support to help them further develop, then fully commercialise, products and services targeting the UK’s offshore wind market.

Inspiring Women Leaders - Virginie Brouard: Owner of La P’tite Folie

This is  a unique opportunity to hear about an exceptional story of one of Edinburgh’s recognised business women, Virginie Brouard. As a 19-year-old, Virginie arrived in Scotland and eventually made a huge success of not one, but two, hospitality businesses in Edinburgh’s West End including in the post-Covid period when many hospitality businesses have gone down under.

Learn about her passions and determination of this trail blazer. Among her many achievements, she is immensely proud to have personally encouraged “Mary’s Meals” being introduced into war-torn Ethiopia.

£100,000 To Promote Local Produce.

Scottish food businesses, producers and groups are encouraged to apply for grants of up to £5,000 to promote and champion produce from their local area.

Scotland Food & Drink Partnership’s Regional Food Fund launches its fifth round with £100,000 available from the Scottish Government to support regional food activity across Scotland.

Support For Actions To Increase Reuse And Recycling

Proposals to cut the number of single-use, disposable items like cups, ban the destruction of unsold goods and promote the reuse of construction materials have received high levels of support in a recent consultation.

More than 70 per cent of respondents backed proposals to reduce household food waste, introduce a charge on single use, disposable items and set new circular economy targets from 2025 – including local recycling targets from 2030.
