Biotech Firm CuanTec Establishes New Plant In Glenrothes Creating 20 Green Jobs

InvestFife has welcomed CuanTec Ltd, a ground-breaking Scottish biotech firm which owns its motto “Using waste to eliminate waste naturally.”  The company has the important aim of reducing carbon emissions, plastic pollution, and food waste, whilst contributing to the circular economy. 

With R&D labs located in Oban, CuanTec is supported by InvestFife in leasing premises at the Food Centre, in Southfield, Glenrothes, which it will use as its new cutting-edge separation plant.

Extension Granted For Existing Short-Term Let Hosts / Operators

Existing short-term let hosts and operators will have more time to apply for a licence after parliament approved a six-month extension.

MSPs voted in favour of extending the timeframe for the short-term let licensing scheme for existing hosts only.

It means that businesses which were already operating as a short-term let before 1st October 2022 have up until 1st October 2023 to apply for a short-term let licence. New hosts still need a licence before they can start operating.
