This Weekend: Two Stringfests!

| "Celebrity Series Goes to Roxbury and Dorchester Looking For The Next Generation’s Celebrities, " writes Phaedra Scott on WBUR’s Artery, shining a spotlight on our Neighborhood Arts program and the Dorchester and Roxbury Stringfests coming up this weekend. Neighborhood Arts brings extraordinary arts opportunities to underserved communities in six Boston neighborhoods, via interactive workshops for young people, free community concerts featuring Boston area artists and youth ensembles, and free tickets for program participants to Celebrity Series performances.

50 Years of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Boston!
| We're kicking off a four-month salute to the 50th anniversary of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 1968 Boston premiere next month! Join us for REVELATIONS: The Legacies of Alvin Ailey and Elma Lewis, an enlightening discussion featuring Ailey Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison and key members of Boston’s arts and dance community. The talk honors the lasting impact of Ailey’s internationally recognized choreography alongside the enduring influence of Boston educator and social justice advocate Elma Lewis, and it will take place Wednesday, December 6, at John Hancock Hall, where the company made its Boston debut with Jamison as a company member.

The View From the Stage: Canadian Brass
| Thanks to all who joined us for Canadian Brass at NEC’s Jordan Hall. The award-winning quintet delivered an exciting program that spanned the gamut, from Dowland, Bach, and Gabrieli, to arrangements from West Side Story. Celebrity Series photographer Robert Torres captured many of the night's most special moments, including – at the request of the quintet – a unique view of the performers doing their final encore of Rimsky-Korsakov’s "Flight of the Bumblebee."
