Hello,

Each evening we bring you the day's news from the Lancashire Post team.

It's been a day of breaking incidents.

The M6 has been closed all day after a lorry overturned between junctions 32 and 33 - and it looks set to remain closed through the Friday night rush.

You can follow the live updates here.

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died in hospital after being taken to Royal Preston Hospital with “serious chest injuries”.

Officers confirmed no arrests had been made but a murder investigation was underway.

Elswhere in the city a man has suffered life-threatening injuries after his car was struck by an ambulance responding to a 999 call.

Fire crews tore the roof of an overturned car to free the man who was trapped inside after a crash with an on-call ambulance in Plungington Road at around 9.30am.

Until next time.
