Last of the Fur Traders (pictured) from Frederick Kroetsch (NSI Business for Producers) screens on April 18 and Whitehorse music video Boys Like You from Trevor Anderson (NSI Drama Prize) screens on April 19. FAVA Fest runs April 17 to 21, 2018. NSI grads nominated for 2018 Windy Awards Posted: 15 Mar 2018 09:53 AM PDT Congratulations to the NSI grads whose films are nominated for the 2018 Winnipeg Film Group Windy Awards: Fright, Scare and Subscribe from Cody Blacksmith (CBC New Indigenous Voices) – nominated for the NSI Short Fiction Award Bayline from JJ Neepin (NSI IndigiDocs) and Justina Neepin (CBC New Indigenous Voices, NSI IndigiDocs) – nominated for the DOC Winnipeg Documentary Award Headdress from JJ Neepin, Justina Neepin and Craig Guiboche (CBC New Indigenous Voices) – nominated for the DOC Winnipeg Documentary Award Zaasaakwe from Darcy Waite (CBC New Indigenous Voices, NSI IndigiDocs) – nominated for the DOC Winnipeg Documentary AwardThe Windy Awards honour Manitoba’s independent filmmaking talent in multiple director and craft categories. They will be presented at the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque on Saturday, April 7. Tickets are $20 in advance.
