Jessica McLeod, lead actor in feature film The Hollow Child from Jeremy Lutter (NSI Drama Prize, NSI Features First) and Ben Rollo (Script to Screen), recently won an award for her work in the film.

Jessica took home the best actress award at Fantasporto 2018 International Film Festival in Porto, Portugal.

This Telefilm Canada micro-budget production follows troubled teen Samantha (McLeod) whose position in her new foster family is jeopardized when her new sister Olivia goes missing in the woods, only to reappear, apparently unharmed, days later. When Samantha suspects that what emerged from the woods is not Olivia, her investigation brings her face to face with an evil presence which has haunted their town for generations.

Mary Goes Round, from writer/director Molly McGlynn (NSI Drama Prize), starts its theatrical run in Toronto on March 30. It screens at Cineplex Yonge-Dundas until April 5.

Mary Goes Round tells the story of an alcoholic substance abuse counsellor who retreats to her hometown to learn her estranged father has terminal cancer.
