Petie Chalifoux (NSI IndigiDocs, STORYHIVE) is featured as one of Playback‘s 5 to Watch which spotlights those who have made a significant impact or achieved remarkable success in the first few years of their career.

Petie was nominated by NSI IndigiDocs co-manager Elise Swerhone who said: “I was impressed by Petie’s brilliance, determination and efficiency, as well as her grasp of visual storytelling. Nothing is too difficult for her.”

As well as being a busy filmmaker in her own right and her participation in NSI IndigiDocs and STORYHIVE, Petie was also part of the Indigenous Languages and Culture Documentary Project, a collaboration between NSI and the Indigenous Leadership Development Institute Inc. (ILDII). Through the project, Petie received training and mentorship to direct part of the documentary and provide her own perspective on the cultural and filmmaking journey of the initiative.
