The Retreat, a 2008-09 NSI Features First-developed project from writer/producer Alyson Richards and director Pat Mills, has made the Slamdance Screenplay Competition 2018 semi-finals.

In The Retreat, a lesbian couple with a rocky relationship go to a friend’s pre-wedding retreat and end up fighting for their lives when a group of militant serial killers tries to murder them.

Slamdance finalists will be announced on October 1 and competition winners will be announced on October 11.

In the words of Pat, “The Retreat was in NSI Features First in 2009 and despite being a horror film, it’s very much still alive.”
