Apply to work on Kim’s Convenience writers’ room with showrunners Ins Choi, Kevin White Posted: 27 Sep 2018 01:27 PM PDT Kim’s Convenience is looking for emerging, diverse writers to participate in a week-long writers’ room this November led by showrunners Ins Choi and Kevin White. The room hopes to provide diverse new writers who are trying to break into the industry with some TV writing experience. The ideal candidate would have little or no previous exposure to a writers’ room. During the week participants will work collectively with Ins, Kevin and each other to brainstorm and break new story ideas for the series. This is a working week and participants will be paid at industry rates for their services. They are looking for writers who have worked on comedic plays, screenplays, episodes of television (original or spec), sketch or stand-up. Requirements for submission: At least two recent comedic writing samples. (TV samples are more helpful, however any sample listed above is welcome.) Resume and short bio. Cover letter detailing how participating in this intensive will assist you in your professional goals and development.This opportunity is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents and landed immigrants.
