Kris Elsley’s horror film Carved wins first place in Huluween Film Fest Posted: 01 Nov 2018 12:21 PM PDT Congratulations to producer Kris Elsley (NSI Features First) whose horror film Carved won first place in Hulu’s Huluween extravaganza along with a prize of $10K towards the production of a feature-length film. For the entire month of October, Hulu celebrated the season with Huluween – a specially curated and packaged horror film extravaganza including the Huluween Film Fest. The film fest gave eight up-and-coming filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their horror-themed short films on Hulu. Carved achieved the highest viewer engagement and the highest scores from a panel of expert judges (Friday the 13th’s ‘Jason Voorhees,’ actor Kane Hodder, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Sharon Needles, and American film producer and founder of Bloody Disgusting, Brad Miska). The Huluween Film Fest generated over 2 million views and Kris was part of the only Canadian film team selected for the festival. In Carved, a boy’s choice of an ugly pumpkin results in an unusual Jack-O-Lantern. The film was written and directed by Justin Harding, and produced by Kris Elsley, Dale Andrews, Rob Brunner and Jason Kennedy.
