Attend DOC BC impact producing workshop with Katherine Dodds in Vancouver, November 25

Registration is now open for a DOC BC event on impact producing with Katherine Dodds on November 25 in Vancouver.

The workshop will explore hybrid ways for filmmakers to find, engage and influence their audiences. In today’s digital universe, borders are fluid and ideas are the passports. From micro-targeting to the universal, this workshop will explore the principles behind impact distribution and the tactics to reach out and make your films relevant to the widest group possible.

This workshop will also help participants examine how these strategies are progressing documentary distribution and sustainability for filmmakers.

Cost is $40 for non-members of DOC BC, free for members, $30 for early bird registrants and $15 for students.

Apply for the 2018 TIFF-CBC Films Screenwriter Award by December 5

Applications are now open for the TIFF-CBC Films Screenwriter Award which provides $15K to a Canadian writer of an outstanding feature film screenplay, supporting them to develop their project.

The award is open to experienced screenwriters who are female, or who are Indigenous, or who belong to a visible minority, or who identify with a disability.

Applicants must have a writer or director credit on a feature film that has been presented at one of this award’s recognized festivals.

The award aims to fund the development of high-quality productions that reflect, represent and reframe diverse perspectives through character-driven stories at the center of the Canadian experience.
