Alayna Silverberg’s short project B-Side wins at Whistler Film Festival Posted: 06 Dec 2018 01:05 PM PST Alayna Silverberg (TELUS STORYHIVE) has won the MPIAA Short Film Award Pitch at Whistler Film Festival for her project B-Side. The MPPIA Short Film Award Pitch, presented by MPPIA and Creative BC, consists of a $15K cash award plus up to $100K in services. The completed project will have its world premiere screening at the 2019 Whistler Film Festival. Werewolf named to The New Yorker’s best movies of 2018 list Posted: 06 Dec 2018 01:01 PM PST Werewolf, the debut feature from writer/director Ashley McKenzie and producer Nelson MacDonald (both NSI Drama Prize), has made The New Yorker‘s best movies of 2018 list. Werewolf depicts a couple struggling with methadone treatment and its impact on their lives while living in a small town. NSI nominated Werewolf for the Telefilm Talent To Watch Program (formerly Telefilm Canada Micro-Budget Production Program) in 2015. It’s also currently available to watch on iTunes Canada.
