NSI Features First-developed Adventures in Public School arrives on Crave December 27 Posted: 18 Dec 2018 11:30 AM PST Beginning December 27, feature comedy Adventures in Public School, developed through NSI Features First by writer/producer Josh Epstein and writer/director Kyle Rideout (both also grads of NSI Drama Prize and NSI Totally Television), will be available to stream on Crave. Adventures in Public School had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, screened at festivals worldwide, won several awards and was picked for the TIFF top 10 films of 2017 list. The film opened in Canadian theatres in April 2018. In the film, a socially awkward home-schooled kid forces his way into public-school against his suffocating but loving mother’s wishes. • • • NSI Features First, in association with Telefilm Canada, provides development training for writer/producer teams looking to produce their first or second feature film with strong commercial appeal. Over 20 feature films developed through the program have been produced since 1997, most recently: Level 16 (2018) from Danishka Esterhazy, SuperGrid (2018) from Hugh Patterson and Todd McCauley, and Venus (2017) from Eisha Marjara and Joe Balass. Corner Gas now streaming in 60 territories worldwide with Amazon Prime Video deal Posted: 18 Dec 2018 11:20 AM PST Thanks to a streaming agreement with Amazon Prime Video, Canadian comedy Corner Gas from producer Virginia Thompson (NSI Features First) of Vérité Films will be available in more than 60 territories. Starting this week, all six seasons of the half-hour series and 2014 film Corner Gas: The Movie will be available in territories including the US, UK, Australia, Iceland, Denmark, Kenya and the Philippines. Produced in association with CTV and The Comedy Network, Corner Gas originally aired from 2004 to 2009 and follows a cast of characters based out of a fictional Saskatchewan town. The agreement with Amazon marks Prairie Pants Distribution’s first international streaming deal for the Corner Gas franchise.
