STORYHIVE series Abracadavers heads to festivals in Alberta

TELUS STORYHIVE series Abracadavers, from project lead Morgan Ermter, is scheduled to screen at two Alberta festivals in the next month: Okotoks Film Festival on June 1 and NextFest in Edmonton, running May 30 to June 9. It also screens later in the summer at Sicily Web Fest in Ustica, Italy in August.

Abracadavers recently won silver in the web series category at DC Web Fest.

In the series, Chris’ mom died in a freak hair salon chair accident. Ever since he’s been attached to the chair responsible for her death. Gabriel, his closest friend, believes this is more than an obsession and kidnaps him on a road trip.

Ordinary Days opens this weekend in Halifax, Toronto, Edmonton

Ordinary Days from directors Jordan Canning (NSI Drama Prize), Kris Booth (NSI Features First) and writer/producer Ramona Barckert (NSI Script to Screen) opens theatrically this weekend in Halifax, Toronto and Edmonton.

The suspense drama tells the story of the disappearance of a young college woman from three different perspectives and is directed separately by Jordan, Kris and Renuka Jeyapalan. Each of the directors helms one of the film’s three chapters. Ordinary Days touches on three compelling film genres – drama, mystery and suspense – to explore themes of family and love.
