Creative BC and CBC have announced the second year of their joint digital production fund which aims to support the creation of video content from producers and creators in British Columbia to be showcased on CBC’s digital platforms.

Creative BC and CBC are looking for applications that reflect, represent and reframe diverse perspectives with a preference for short form video content and short films that fit into the CBC.ca feed verticals of CBCShort Docs, CBCComedy, CBCKids and CBCArts.

Information and eligibility requirements:

  • Funding is limited to genres that qualify for BC domestic tax credits so applications will not be accepted for talk shows, news, live sports events, game shows or advertising
  • There is a per project minimum budget of $15K and a maximum contribution of $50K, combined, from Creative BC and CBC
  • The applicant must be a BC company, as defined in the guidelines

Preference will be given to projects from women, Indigenous persons, visible minorities and persons with a disability to get their unique voices heard, but creators who do not fall into any of these groups may also apply for funding.

Read more about the program and apply on CBC’s website by August 5, 2019.
