A third season of Corner Gas Animated, from executive producer Virginia Thompson (NSI Features First) of Vérité Films, has been ordered by CTV Comedy (formerly The Comedy Network) and is scheduled to premiere in 2020.

Additionally, the first two seasons of Corner Gas Animated premiered last week as an IMDb Original, with all six seasons of the live-action sitcom and Corner Gas: The Movie set to hit IMDb TV on October 15.

Previously, Corner Gas was made available to stream in more than 60 territories through Amazon Prime Video.

NSI Features First-developed project Cherries (previously She Smiles Back), from writer Matt Sadowski and producer Amelia Wasserman, made the feature screenplay finals in the 2019 Slamdance Screenplay Competition. Three projects in four categories – feature, horror, pilot and short – were recognized.

Cherries follows an anxious and cynical young woman who gets caught up in a high-stakes misadventure on her 16th birthday when her flighty and reckless Irish-twin sister befriends a pretty boy delinquent.

The Slamdance Screenplay Competition is dedicated to discovering and nurturing emerging writing talent, welcoming screenplays in every genre, on any topic, from anywhere in the world.

NSI Features First provides development training for writer/producer teams looking to produce their first or second feature film with strong commercial appeal. Over 20 feature films developed through the program have been produced since 1997.
