Alex Lazarowich’s Fast Horse in the news Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:52 PM PST Alex Lazarowich (NSI IndigiDocs) has been busy with her award-winning short documentary Fast Horse. She recently spoke to The Atlantic about how the film came about and also to The Hollywood Reporter for their Awards Playbook Documentary Preview which profiled Oscar hopefuls. Earlier this year the film won several Yorkton Golden Sheaf Awards, an Alberta Media Production Industries Association (AMPIA) Rosie Award, a Sundance Special Jury Award and awards at imagineNATIVE to name a few. It’s also a Staff Pick on Vimeo. In Fast Horse, Blackfoot bareback horse-racing returns in the astonishingly dangerous Indian Relay. Siksika horseman Allison Red Crow struggles with second-hand horses and a new jockey on his way to challenge the best riders in the Blackfoot Confederacy.
