Production underway on Donkeyhead from producer Anand Ramayya Posted: 19 Jan 2021 02:41 PM PST Feature film Donkeyhead from Anand Ramayya (NSI Totally Television) began production in Regina this week. Anand, founder of Karma Film, has signed on as a producer for Donkeyhead along with his Karma Film partner Kelly Balon. Donkeyhead follows Mona, a troubled, reckless writer who moves back into her traditional Sikh family home, staying for seven years caring for her cancer-stricken father. When his health takes a turn for the worse, her three successful siblings return home to take care of the situation, quickly unraveling Mona as she is forced to face her questionable life choices and quirky family dynamics. The film is shooting in Regina until mid-February with an expected release this fall/winter. Apply now for the 2021 Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices Initiative Posted: 19 Jan 2021 12:57 PM PST Applications are now open for the 2021 Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices Initiative through the Banff World Media Festival. The Diversity of Voices Initiative is a national training and access program for mid-career Indigenous, Black and People of Colour creators and producers from across Canada. The 2021 edition is open exclusively to candidates who identify as one or more of the following: including African, Black, Caribbean, East Asian, First Nations, Inuit, Latinx, Métis, Middle Eastern, Pacific Islander, South Asian and Western Asian. The program aims to provide media access and mentorship to underrepresented media professionals to help grow their presence in the industry. Selected participants will receive a BANFF 2021 pass, inclusion in a customized professional development program and exclusive networking opportunities with senior media industry executives. Apply by January 29 to accelerate your project and career. Read the submission guidelines and eligibility criteria to see if your project qualifies.
