Congratulations to the NSI grads who won awards at last week’s 2016 imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival in Toronto.

Best short documentary went to NSI Aboriginal Documentary film Cree Code Talker from Alexandra Lazarowich and Cowboy Smithx, and best drama pitch was nabbed by Sonya Ballantyne (NSI New Voices, NSI Aboriginal Documentary) for Eagle Girl.

imagineNATIVE is the world’s largest presenter of Indigenous screen content. Their initiatives showcase, promote, and celebrate Canadian and international Indigenous filmmakers and media artists and create a greater understanding of Indigenous peoples, cultures and artistic expressions.
