Rintoul award for best Manitoba play. zahgidiwin/love is a post-colonial fable about gender politics and cultural genocide. Through a kaleidoscope of theatrical styles, the play explores the ramifications of trauma across generations and searches for what a decolonized nation and decolonized theatre might look like. |

Jeff Kopas-directed The Bequest picked up by Northern Banner Releasing Posted: 25 Jul 2016 12:19 PM PDT Northern Banner Releasing has acquired the Canadian distribution rights to psychological thriller The Bequest from director Jeff Kopas (NSI Features First). Northern Banner will release the film theatrically in Canada in early 2017. The Bequest follows Jenibel Heath (played by Shenae Grimes) and her return to her family’s secluded island lodge to help her siblings care for their dying father 10 years after the mysterious suicide of her mother. Set to inherit the bulk of the family’s estate, Jenibel fears that her siblings do not have her best intentions at heart and she struggles to keep her sanity after she becomes trapped on the island. Jeff also serves as co-writer and co-producer on the film. |
