Horror film The Witch, co-produced by Scythia Films and Daniel Bekerman (NSI Features First), is nominated for two 2017 Independent Spirit Awards.

Nominated for best first feature and best first screenplay, The Witch is about a Puritan family encountering forces of evil in the woods beyond their New England farm.

The awards are given out in LA on February 25, 2017.

Daniel Dolphin and the Guardians of the Ocean, an NSI Features First-developed project from Adam Mars and Carmen Forsberg, has launched an Indiegogo campaign and is slated to start production in 2017.

Daniel Dolphin is a 3D animated adventure film for the whole family. It’s a sweet-natured, underwater kids’ story about a likeable young dolphin who goes in search of a magic horn to save the ocean’s creatures, only to realize that it’s not about magic but collective responsibility.

APTN sketch comedy series CAUTION: May Contain Nuts, produced by Mosaic Entertainment’s Camille Beaudoin (NSI Totally Television, NSI Features First) and Eric Rebalkin (NSI Business for Producers), will return after five years to APTN in fall 2017.

Production has wrapped on season four which brings back its season three cast members.

APTN has picked up the series again due to popular demand and will bring more of the show’s signature pop culture spoofs, satirical music videos and biting social commentary.

This short documentary profiles the lives of three men of colour who have undergone gender transition from female to male.

The film explores what life is like living as a black man when no one knows you are transgender, and how each of them perceives their own journey with gender, after years of being interacted with as male.

Directed by Lucah Rosenberg-Lee and J. Mitchel Reed.

The clock strikes 11:11 and time stops so a young woman can explore her thoughts about her life and marriage.

She is confronted by her past and future self who both try to push her to become more perfect. She looks in the mirror and doesn’t recognize herself, the mirror covers her body and she starts to realize that she is trapped.

If your film is programmed, you have a chance of winning up to $4,750 in cash awards. We accept films released after January 1, 2011.

Your film must be less than 30 mins long. Drama, comedy, animation, documentary, sci-fi, horror, music video and experimental are all eligible and must be made by a Canadian writer, director or producer.
