Enter the 2017 Windy Awards by December 2 Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:49 PM PST There’s one week remaining to submit your film to the 2017 Windy Awards, introduced last year and designed to provide special recognition to independent Manitoba cinema. Manitoba filmmakers can enter now until December 2. Entries can only be submitted by the director of the film/work. The submission process involves two steps: (1) filling out the entry submission form then (2) going to the online store to make the appropriate payment. The Windy Awards will be handed out at a ceremony on Saturday, February 25 at the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque. Read the guidelines and submit your film. |
Chopin’s Heart screens at Winnipeg Film Group tomorrow Posted: 25 Nov 2016 11:34 AM PST Chopin’s Heart, an NSI Drama Prize short from BJ Verot and Melva McLean, screens tomorrow at a member’s event and holiday party at the Winnipeg Film Group. Chopin’s Heart screens alongside nine other local shorts. The event takes place on November 26 at 5 p.m. at Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque theatre. Based on the short story In-Sook by Emily Givner, Chopin’s Heart is a tale of two lovers attracted to each other in the wrong place at the wrong time. |
