That Mennonite Joke from Orlando Braun (NSI Business for Producers) is now screening on Bravo Canada and is also available to view for free on BravoFACT’s YouTube channel.

In 2014, the film received funding from BravoFACTUAL in support of its production.

That Mennonite Joke is a funny, surprising and insightful documentary-comedy hybrid film that explores humour in Mennonite culture through the perspective of comedian Matt Falk.

Congratulations to the NSI grads nominated for 2017 Alberta Media Production Industries Association (AMPIA) Rosie awards.

• It’s Not My Fault And I Don’t Care Anyway from producers Camille Beaudoin (NSI Totally Television, NSI Features First), Eric Rebalkin (NSI Business for Producers) and writer/director Chris Craddock (NSI Features First) are up for a whole whack of awards this year, including best dramatic feature (made-for-TV movie), best director and best screenwriter

• NSI IndigiDocs film Cree Code Talker from director/producer Alex Lazarowich and producer Cowboy Smithx is up for best non-fiction short

• Beneath the Surface from Frederick Kroetsch (NSI Business for Producers) is nominated for best documentary under 30 minutes

• Chokeslam from Robert Cuffley (NSI Features First) is nominated for best dramatic feature (made-for-TV movie), best director, best screenwriter and best editor

• Cowtown from Ramin Eshraghi-Yazdi (TELUS Optik™ Local) is nominated for best fiction web series

The Rosie awards are handed out at a gala on Saturday, April 29 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton.
