NSI IndigiDocs short From Up North screens at the University of Regina, May 24 Posted: 19 May 2017 11:00 AM PDT Trudy Stewart and Janine Windolph’s NSI IndigiDocs film From Up North screens next week at the University of Regina. From Up North is a personal, poetic short documentary directed by Trudy based on her experience working for the Truth & Reconciliation Commission. The film features Noel Starblanket who shares his experiences of attending the Lebret Indian Residential School. While listening to Noel’s stories, Trudy reflects on her time listening to survivors’ stories and her connection to the Indian Residential School legacy. The event happens Wednesday, May 24 at 7 p.m., with a reception at 6:30 p.m. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Trudy and Noel. Trevor Anderson short The High Level Bridge to screen during Doors Open Toronto Posted: 19 May 2017 09:18 AM PDT Congrats to Trevor Anderson (NSI Drama Prize) whose short film The High Level Bridge will screen in the tunnels below Canada’s oldest mental health hospital as part of Rendezvous with Madness‘ programming for Doors Open Toronto. In the film, Trevor drops his camera from Edmonton’s High Level Bridge in memory of those who’ve jumped. Tunnel Vision happens May 27 and 28. The High Level Bridge screens as part of a shorts compilation exploring film and architecture at 12 noon on both days.
