NSI grads take home 2017 Leo Awards Posted: 05 Jun 2017 02:44 PM PDT The Cameraman from Arnold Lim (NSI Features First) won best short drama, best sound and best production design in a short drama. TELUS STORYHIVE web series project Hand Crafted – The Potter from Greg Bartels, Andrew Muir and Andrew Millard won best direction and best cinematography in an information, lifestyle or reality program or series. Hand Crafted – The Sculptor from Greg Bartels, Andrew Muir and Andrew Millard won best picture editing and best sound in an information, lifestyle or reality program or series. Letterkenny from Mark Montefiore (NSI Totally Television) won best music, comedy or variety program. Additionally, Hello Destroyer from exec producer Trish Dolman (NSI Features First) took home best motion picture, NSI Features First-developed The Sun At Midnight from Kirsten Carthew won best picture editing and best musical score, and The Hollow Child from Jeremy Lutter (NSI Drama Prize) and Ben Rollo (Movie Central Script to Screen) won best lead performance by a female. Tricia Lee, Carmen Forsberg selected to Whistler Film Fest feature lab Posted: 05 Jun 2017 12:17 PM PDT Congratulations to Tricia Lee (Corus Diverse TV Director) and Carmen Forsberg (NSI Features First) whose projects were chosen for the 2017 Whistler Film Festival (WFF) Feature Project Lab. Penumbra from Tricia and Boundary Country from Carmen made the cut. Fellow NSI Features First grad Adam Mars wrote Boundary Country. The lab advances a producer’s dramatic feature project and facilitates relationships and investment in film projects that have US and international appeal. Six projects are being developed across a variety of genres. The first phase runs until June 9 and the second phase runs from November 28 to December 1 alongside Whistler Film Festival.
