NSI grads receive Bell Fund support Posted: 14 Jun 2017 01:44 PM PDT Congratulations to the NSI graduates receiving Bell Fund support through production grants, as announced on June 12. Indian Horse from Trish Dolman (NSI Features First) and Paula Devonshire (NSI Features First, NSI Totally Television) receives money for feature film production and a website offering a multimedia experience, integrating cross-platform interactivity and a social media campaign that will challenge audiences to take small actions toward reconciliation. Mohawk Girls (pictured) from Tracey Deer (NSI Storytellers, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program), Cynthia Knight (NSI Drama Prize), Catherine Bainbridge and Christina Fon (both NSI Global Marketing) receives funding for the upcoming fifth season. Molly McGlynn’s 3-Way (Not Calling) screens at Palm Springs ShortFest Posted: 14 Jun 2017 01:36 PM PDT Congratulations to Molly McGlynn (NSI Drama Prize) whose short 3-Way (Not Calling) screens at the upcoming Palm Springs International ShortFest. 3-Way (Not Calling) is part of the It Takes Two shorts program showing on June 23 at 5 p.m. In the film, a woman who’s dreading a milestone birthday tells her partner she wants to have a threesome, but where will they find the third person? The Palm Springs International ShortFest, now in its 23rd year, is the largest short film event in North America. It runs from June 20 to 26, 2017.
