LA Skins Fest is a Native American film festival that takes place every year as part of the City of Los Angeles’ Celebration of Native American Heritage Month. | NSI IndigiDocs films premiere on APTN, November 1 Posted: 26 Oct 2017 11:32 AM PDT The National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI) is pleased to announce that four short documentary films from the third year of NSI IndigiDocs (then known as NSI Aboriginal Documentary) will be featured on APTN on November 1 as a one-hour special at 7 p.m. CT*. “We’re grateful to APTN for their continuing support of the NSI IndigiDocs participants,” said John Gill, CEO of NSI. “Having their short documentaries premiere on such a far-reaching and well-respected platform as APTN is an invaluable benefit of this partnership.” “APTN is pleased to support the NSI IndigiDocs storytellers and their films,” said Jean LaRose, CEO of APTN. “This program trains and nurtures Canadian Indigenous documentary filmmakers, giving them the experience, contacts and skills for sustained careers in the industry, and we’re happy to showcase their films to APTN’s national audience.” The films are repeated on November 2 at 4 a.m.* and 11 a.m.*, November 7 at 3 p.m.* and on November 28 at 11 a.m.* *Check your local listings for times. 7 Minutes

In the 1960s, Pagwa River was a booming railroad town populated by second generation Crees. During one cold winter, the community was being stalked by a lone wolf. Every attempt to kill the wolf failed. Jane recognized the wolf as a spirit sign from the ancestors. Ridiculed for her beliefs, Jane set out alone to kill the wolf using the old ways.
