New series 1491: The Untold Story of the Americas Before Columbus premieres on APTN, November 8 Posted: 30 Oct 2017 12:28 PM PDT APTN has announced the premiere date for its eight-part miniseries 1491: The Untold Story of the Americas Before Columbus. The series is co-directed by Lisa Jackson (NSI Storytellers, Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program, NSI IndigiDocs program advisor) and co-written by Marie Clements (Featuring Aboriginal Stories Program, NSI Storytellers) alongside writer/director Barbara Hager. Based on Charles C. Mann’s book 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus, the series focuses on the origins and history of ancient civilizations and details groundbreaking achievements in agriculture, governance, trade and other areas.
