The Dangers of Online Dating, a new web series from Brianne Nord-Stewart (TELUS Optik™ Local), launches November 23.

With a one year No-Sex-Anniversary looming, Paula, a sexual health nurse, decides to challenge her fears of STIs (they don’t call them STDs anymore) and relationships by online dating.

Nine episodes are set for weekly release. A series launch party is also being held on November 23 in Vancouver.

Eleven films from 18 NSI grads screen at this year’s Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival (WAFF) which runs from November 23 to 26.

  • CBC New Indigenous Voices short Forgotten (pictured) from Jesse Spence, Andy Lown, Alexis Leask
  • CBC New Indigenous Voices short Bank Statement from Tyshana Hobson, Gindalee Ouskun and Michael Black
  • Fright, Scare & Subscribe from Cody Blacksmith (CBC New Indigenous Voices)
  • Moccasin Stories from Charlene Moore and Andrew George (both CBC New Indigenous Voices)

Many of the films screen as part of WAFF’s Manitoba filmmaker night hosted by the Indigenous Filmmakers Association on November 26.
