The Breadwinner, an animated feature from Anthony Leo’s (NSI Totally Television) production company Aircraft Pictures, is nominated for a 2018 Golden Globe in the Best Motion Picture – Animated category.

Directed by Nora Twomey, the film is adapted from the 2001 novel of the same name by antiwar activist Deborah Ellis and is based on her experiences visiting refugee camps in geopolitically volatile Afghanistan during the 1990s.

Angelina Jolie is an executive producer.

The film had its world premiere at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
