Black Guitar follows weathered troubadour Anton James through his dark night in a 24-hour period of debauchery and self-destruction.

It’s the type of night that can only end in one of two ways: death or death by epiphany.

About Devin Casario

Devin Casario

Devin Casario is an award-winning musician and filmmaker living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

He has released four full-length albums including a double album Rooftops & Alleyways (2011), and directed music videos and numerous short films including The Janitor (2013) and Trust (2014) which won the Best Next Gen Film award at the 2014 Silver Wave Film Festival and screened at the 2015 Atlantic Film Festival.

Black Guitar (2016) was produced by friend and collaborator Todd Fraser and was made through the Atlantic Filmmaker’s Cooperative’s prestigious Film 5 program.

Originally from Charlottetown, PEI, Devin has lived in Baltimore, Montreal and Hong Kong before settling in Halifax.

He graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 2002 with a bachelor of arts in religious studies and received a diploma in screen arts from Nova Scotia Community College in June 2014.

Devin continues to work on music and films.
