Trish Dolman (NSI Features First) has begun production on music documentary Rock and Roll Revival and has optioned the rights to adapt a new project for the screen based on best-selling book Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter.
Rock and Roll Revival recalls the events of a one-day music festival held at the University of Toronto’s Varsity Stadium in 1969 where John Lennon performed for the first time without The Beatles. The film began production in early July with plans for release through Crave in late 2022.
Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter tells the story of how a six-year-old fled to North America following the 1973 Chilean military coup and later returned to South America as a teenager as part of the Chilean resistance.
The team behind the pandemic comedy thriller Outrunners, from writer/director Ken Hegan (NSI Features First) and story editor/executive producer Wendy Hyman (NSI Features First), have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for their film.
Outrunners is a smart comedy about two bickering reality stars Emily and Todd who are racing to save Emily’s mom’s life during a future pandemic while chased by deadly snipers and camera drones. The film was shot entirely in British Columbia with local film crews and actors.
With the film near completion, the team is looking to raise funds for music, audio and visual effects. They are asking film lovers to donate now and invest in this Canadian-made film.

Submit your two-minute pitch video to qualify for the competition. Applicants must be Indigenous to Canada and apply as a producer/director team (director can also be screenwriter).
Selected competitors will work with mentors to hone their pitch and present in front of an online jury on October 20. The winner will be announced during the imagineNATIVE Awards Ceremony on October 24.
